Position Duration: 1+ Year Remote anywhere in the USA (Contractor role)
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 1+ year of IT experience.
- Availability to participate in on-call rotation.
Preferred Tools Experience (but not mandatory):
- Incident and Change Management: Jira or similar tools.
- Documentation: Confluence or similar tools.
- Job Scheduling: Control-M or other relevant software is a bonus.
- Terminal Emulation: Putty or comparable software.
- Monitoring: Foglight or similar software would be a plus.
Preferred Database Support Experience (but not mandatory):
- Understanding of data locking as utilized by the HCL eCommerce application.
- Ability to restore DB to a specific point in time.
- Familiarity with DB2 backup processes, especially for the HCL eCommerce database.
- Knowledge of the DB2 stageprop process used by the HCL eCommerce application.
- Understanding of Referential Integrity (RI) as used by the HCL eCommerce application.
Hands-on Experience Required:
- Resolving relational DB issues for HCL eCommerce (formerly known as IBM Websphere Commerce).
- Essential: DB2 (Version 10.5 preferred).
- DB2 Purescale (also known as Advanced Edition Server or AES) edition experience preferred, especially version 10.5.
- Required: DB2 data load/import utility.
- Capable of writing and executing basic SQL queries.
- Experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle is a bonus.
Other Essential Skills:
- Ability to troubleshoot undocumented issues and create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). For instance:Query Performance.
- Job Failures.
- Backup Failures.
- System Outages.
- Outstanding documentation skills to enhance and update SOPs based on feedback.
